Heidelberg and Rothenburg
3 days/2 nights, independent tour, daily departures
Day 1: Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Franfurt
Store your luggage at your hotel in the morning and then pick up your ducuments at the Touring office located at the main train station. Depart Frankfurt by train for Heidelberg, the old university town on the banks of the river Neckar. where your local guide iis waiting to take you on your city waljk ncluding a visit to the inner courtyard of the Heidelberg Castle. Afterwards time for own activities. In late afternoon return to Frankfurt. Check into hotel Overnight at Hotel Intercity or similar.
Day 2: Frankfurt - Rothenburg (B)
Depart from Frankfurt for a picturesque drive through the Spessart Mountains to Wurzburg. Continue on the Romantic Road to Rothenburg o.d.T., Germany’s well-preserved "Jewel of the Middle Ages" with its ramparts, city gates, town hall and Jakobskirche (church) with an altar by the famous wood-carver T Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg, a taxi will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon or evening please join the city walk with Rothenburg’s historical Night Watchman. Overnight at Hotel Spitzweg / Markustrum or similar.
Day 3: Rothenburg - Munich (B)
Morning free. In the early afternoon a taxi will meet you at your hotel and take you to the bus stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing such picturesque places as Dinkelsbühl, Nördlingen and Donauwörth, with high-gabled houses and cobbled streets. Via Augsburg, a metropolis during the Roman times and famous for old trade dynasties during the Middle Ages, you reach Munich, where your tour ends at approx. 8:00pm
Reverse itinerary:
Tour ends in Frankfurt at approx. 8 pm.
